These sparks can ignite something in you. Let them in. Always remember to speak the poem aloud so your ears can participate. The words enter the ear&#8217;s vestibule and yes you see Vesta in the naming, none other than the hearth goddess. She keeps the fire going, the fire that must never go out, <em>ignis inextinctus. <\/em>Sparks, indeed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new member of the blog, Daniel Blake, offers these sparks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><em>U<\/em><\/span><strong><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">nder the mound of my belly,<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> <strong><em>the occidental is ended<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God awful Sun-days<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Going all sideways,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gone asunder suddenly;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gasping after salaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gary asked somebody<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Going around sounding,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garbling about summertime<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Got any spare&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">gillyform-aero-space-suits<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">going?&#8221; And so<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gary and Saz,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giggling about stardust,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Got away swiftly<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gaia&#8217;s almost shifted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gas! GAS! Quick, boys!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bear only yesterday scattered<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beady Owl&#8217;s yarrow stalks&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bundling, orating, yelling skyward,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bear overwatches your secret<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beehive. Ominous, you say?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But only your splitside&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boxed off your shine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bring out your seafaring,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bellybusting overalls, young soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Look up, nighttime arrives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some poems are &#8220;frictional,&#8221; and give off sparks.
