I did my analytical training in the late 60s and early 70s. I was<\/font><\/p>\n

fortunate to have met and been taught by many people who<\/font><\/p>\n

had direct experience with Jung. From time to time I\u2019ll post<\/font><\/p>\n

a memory of those times.<\/font><\/p>\n

     One such figure was the gnostic scholar, Gilles Quispel, an<\/font><\/p>\n

extraordinary many by any measure. He was instrumental in <\/font><\/p>\n

securing the Jung Codex for purchase by the Institute in Zurich<\/font><\/p>\n

as a birthday present for Jung. <\/font><\/p>\n

     The memory that stands out to me is one training seminar<\/font><\/p>\n

in the early days. At one point, as we were discussing the nature <\/font><\/p>\n

of \u201cmystery,\u201d he stopped us. He put his index figure to his lips<\/font><\/p>\n

as if telling us to hush a bit. Then he said something I\u2019ll never <\/font><\/p>\n

forget:<\/font><\/p>\n

Mystery is not to be solved, or resolved, or dissolved. Mystery<\/font><\/em><\/p>\n

is to be embraced, loved, and out of that will comes one\u2019s<\/font><\/em><\/p>\n

deepest sense of life, meaning, and purpose.<\/font><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I remember thinking then that dreams are a mystery and what Quispel<\/font><\/p>\n
