As a kid, Christmas was my favorite time of year. As a parent, Christmas was my favorite time of year. As a grandfather, Christmas is my favorite time of year. As a grandparent, the focus is on the importance of specific traditions, like Christmas, working as a kind of balm for the toxic narcissism that is pervading our culture, from the President on down.
