THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

My first experience with AI (Artificial Intelligence) was in the fall of 1956. My work study job required me to participate in the USC Computer Lab. There were a number of people there from the Rand Corporation working with the new Honeywell computer system. At lunch time, a common topic of conversation was AI. I recall at one point along the way, I asked one of the engineers about AI and what was important about it. His answer surprised me a bit, but I never forgot it. Hs answer was, “Never ignore it.” I believe this is truer today and more so than we can imagine. Heads up!
