The level of incompetence of the current administration is mind boggling. This incompetence is borne not only by inadequate knowledge, but the failure to even be aware of or use available knowledge. It is government by whim rather than true policies. The stupidity, inadequacy, and general ineptitude should be sounding alarm bells at all levels. One thing we can count on is that some major crisis or possibly crises are brewing. Whether they be health (e.g., another pandemic), economic (a market or housing crash), cultural (uprisings, silencing dissent), climate (storms, fires), or something else, competence will be required to deal with the reality. The current government does not have the requisite competence and that will threaten the well-being of everyone. Prepare as best you can.
There is no DESIRE to return to a civil/civically-oriented culture. These phenomena, a loss of tending to other humans, animals and the earth, as if progress involves an abandonment of basic human societal tending. This is a mistake of the highest order. Human beings are now experiencing a combination of rage, entitlement, narcissism, and a lack of societal responsibility. This is a sure sign of a vampiric cultural shift. You are often told you are old or out of step. Keep your hands to yourself is no longer taught. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you is a concept the culture has forgotten. Without a valuation of critical thinking, coupled with civic responsibility, we are in deep trouble.
Trump’s global insult yesterday at the UN, should have resulted in his being told to leave that body of peacekeepers.
